Severe Thunderstorms Possible Monday

Saturday, March 29, 2025 - 8:07pm

OVERVIEW

A cold front will cross the area Monday, bringing a line of showers and thunderstorms to the region. A few of those storms may be strong to severe, with damaging winds being the main threat.

TIMING ▪ Monday afternoon into the early evening, the line of showers and storms will track from west to east across the region.

HAZARDS & IMPACTS
▪ Damaging wind gusts will be the main threat, which may knock down trees and power lines.
▪ Isolated tornadoes and large hail will also be possible.

FORECAST CHALLENGES
▪ Storms will be ongoing across east Tennessee and northern Georgia as the front approaches from the west Monday morning. Uncertainty remains as to how much the storms will weaken, if at all, as they push into the area early Monday afternoon.
▪ Also, models disagree on how quickly the front passes through, if it crosses earlier in the day, the severe threat may shift more to our east.
