November 1, 2026 | Rowan County Weather & Regional Forecast

Voters across Rowan, Davie, Davidson, and Cabarrus counties should have very little to worry about from the weather when heading to the polls on Tuesday, November 3.

After a cloudy and occasionally damp start to November, a significant improvement in our weather pattern is expected early this week. By Election Day, sunshine and comfortably mild temperatures should dominate across our region.

Whether you plan to vote before work, during your lunch break, or later in the afternoon, the weather should cooperate.

A Chilly Start, Followed by a Beautiful Afternoon

Election Day will begin on the cool side, with early morning temperatures generally in the 40s across much of our region.

Anyone heading to the polls when they open at 6:30 AM will probably appreciate a jacket, especially if there's a line outside.

As the morning progresses, temperatures will climb steadily under mostly sunny skies.

By lunchtime, much of the region should be warming through the 60s, with afternoon highs reaching the lower to middle 70s.

That's a very pleasant forecast for early November.

6:30 AM – 9:00 AM: A Cool Start

If you're voting early, a light jacket or sweater would be a good idea.

9:00 AM – Noon: Warming Nicely

Sunshine will help temperatures climb through the 50s and into the 60s.

Conditions should remain dry, with no significant weather-related travel concerns expected.

Noon – 4:00 PM: The Best Weather of the Day

4:00 PM – 7:30 PM: Pleasant, Then Cooling

With Daylight Saving Time ending this weekend, sunset will occur earlier by the clock. Anyone voting later in the day should expect darkness before polls close.

Rain is not expected to be a concern.

Polling Hours and Weather Planning

North Carolina polling places are scheduled to be open from 6:30 AM until 7:30 PM on Tuesday, November 3.

Voters should go to their assigned Election Day polling place rather than assuming an early voting location will be available.

Anyone already in line at 7:30 PM will be allowed to vote.

Voters are also asked to bring an acceptable photo ID. Additional information about voting requirements, polling locations, and sample ballots is available through the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

Why Is It So Mild for Early November?

The warming trend follows the gradual breakdown of the cool-air wedge that influenced our weather over the weekend.

As that shallow layer of cooler air weakens, sunshine and a more favorable wind pattern will allow afternoon temperatures to climb.

Highs in the 70s are above what we would typically expect during the opening days of November, but mild stretches are certainly possible during the fall transition season.

The warmth won't necessarily last indefinitely.

Our next weather system is expected to approach later in the week, bringing increasing clouds and another opportunity for rainfall by Thursday.

The Bottom Line

Election Day 2026 is shaping up to be an excellent weather day across Rowan, Davie, Davidson, and Cabarrus counties.

Expect a cool start, plenty of sunshine, dry conditions, and afternoon temperatures in the lower to middle 70s.

Whether you're voting early in the morning or later in the day, the weather should present very few obstacles.

We'll continue monitoring the forecast and provide any necessary updates as Tuesday approaches.
