Davie County Forecast: Hot Today, Cooler Weekend Ahead with Increasing Storm Chances

Friday, July 10, 2026 - 7:10am

The weather pattern is finally beginning to shift across Davie County. Today will be another hot and humid summer day, but temperatures will gradually cool through the weekend as a more active weather pattern develops. Along with that cooler air will come daily chances for showers and thunderstorms, with the greatest potential for widespread rain arriving late Sunday into Monday.

Today's Forecast

Expect increasing clouds throughout the day with a high near 93°. It will still feel quite warm this afternoon, so if you'll be outdoors, remember to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon, becoming more numerous after 4 PM. Rain chances are 60%, and while not everyone will receive rainfall, any storm that develops could produce heavy downpours, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and isolated hail.

Tonight remains mostly cloudy with a low around 70°. A few showers and thunderstorms could linger through the overnight hours before gradually diminishing toward daybreak.

Saturday

Saturday brings a slight break from the heat with highs around 90°. Much of the day will be dry, but scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop once again. Rain chances remain around 30% during the day and continue into Saturday night.

Sunday Into Monday

A noticeable cooldown arrives Sunday as highs only reach the mid-80s, the coolest temperatures Davie County has seen in roughly two weeks.

Showers and thunderstorms become more widespread Sunday afternoon and continue Sunday night into Monday. Rain chances increase to 60% Sunday, with additional showers lingering into Monday as highs only reach around 81°.

Some storms through Monday could become strong with damaging wind gusts, while repeated rounds of heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Looking Ahead

Conditions begin improving Tuesday with a mix of clouds and sunshine and a high near 86°. Temperatures should gradually return to more typical July levels during the middle of next week.
