Weather Discussion
The overall weather pattern changes very little through the remainder of the week. Warm, humid air continues to flow north from the Gulf while a stalled cold front remains well to our north. This combination will keep temperatures above average while providing enough moisture for daily afternoon thunderstorm development.
Midweek may feel just a bit more comfortable as slightly lower humidity filters into the region behind a weak boundary. However, temperatures will still climb well into the 90s each afternoon.
By late week, the Bermuda High strengthens once again, allowing heat and humidity to increase heading into the weekend.
Each afternoon, isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible. While many locations may remain dry, any storm that develops could briefly become strong. Damaging wind gusts remain the primary severe weather threat, along with frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall.
Forecast confidence decreases later in the week, but several upper-level disturbances and an approaching cold front are expected to bring higher rain and thunderstorm chances on Saturday. Behind the front, slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity are expected for the latter part of the weekend and early next week.
