Davie County Forecast: Hot Weather Continues with Better Storm Chances Tuesday

Sunday, July 5, 2026 - 7:34pm

Davie County will remain in a typical midsummer weather pattern this week, featuring hot afternoons, warm and humid nights, and daily opportunities for showers and thunderstorms. While Monday looks relatively quiet, storm chances increase noticeably on Tuesday.

Monday: Hot with Only Isolated Afternoon Storms

Monday will be another hot July day with plenty of sunshine for much of the afternoon.

High temperatures will climb to 95 degrees, while the heat index reaches around 101 degrees.

Only an isolated shower or thunderstorm is expected after 3 PM, with most communities staying dry during the daytime hours.

Storm coverage increases Monday evening as a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms develops before 2 AM.

Tuesday: Highest Rain Chances of the Week

Tuesday appears to be the most active day of the forecast.

After a warm and mostly sunny start, showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous during the late afternoon and evening.

High temperatures will reach 92 degrees, with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 PM.

A few storms could become strong and produce:

  • Damaging wind gusts
  • Frequent lightning
  • Heavy downpours
  • Localized flooding in poor drainage areas

Midweek Turns Quieter

Storm coverage decreases on Wednesday, although an isolated late-day thunderstorm remains possible.

Wednesday's forecast includes:

  • Mostly sunny skies
  • High near 91 degrees
  • A 30% chance of an afternoon or early evening thunderstorm

Thursday looks dry with plenty of sunshine and a high near 93 degrees.

Hot Summer Weather Continues

Temperatures remain above average through the end of the workweek.

Friday brings another sunny and hot day with highs around 94 degrees, while overnight lows remain near 70 degrees, keeping conditions warm and humid each night.

Looking Ahead

Forecast confidence decreases later in the week as a more unsettled weather pattern begins to develop.

Several weather disturbances may move through the Carolinas beginning late this week and into next weekend. Unlike the isolated afternoon "pop-up" storms we've seen recently, these systems could bring more widespread showers and thunderstorms at times.

Forecasters are also watching for the possibility of more organized thunderstorms later this week, as stronger winds aloft could support stronger storm development than we've experienced over the past several days.

Bottom Line

  • Highs remain in the lower to middle 90s throughout the week.
  • Heat index values will approach 100 degrees each afternoon.
  • Only isolated storms are expected Monday.
  • Tuesday brings the highest chance for showers and thunderstorms.
  • A few storms through Tuesday could produce damaging wind gusts.
  • The weather pattern may become more active later this week with additional opportunities for showers and thunderstorms.

If you have outdoor plans this week, continue to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks from the heat, and keep an eye on the sky during the afternoon and evening hours as thunderstorms can develop quickly. I'll continue monitoring conditions and provide updates throughout the week.
