WHAT I'M WATCHING

Wednesday will be a welcome change with sunshine, lower humidity, and temperatures running a few degrees below normal for late June.

The warming trend begins Thursday and continues through the weekend. High temperatures climb from 90° Thursday to the mid-90s by Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Heat index values will likely exceed 100 degrees during the weekend. While forecast temperatures have trended down slightly compared to earlier forecasts, the combination of heat and humidity will still create uncomfortable and potentially dangerous conditions.

Daily afternoon storm chances return Friday and continue through the weekend. Coverage currently appears scattered, meaning many locations will stay dry while others could receive brief but heavy rainfall.
