Rain Update for early next week
We have been in need of rain for sometime not only here but in the western North Carolina areas. where extreme drought and wildfires are causing some serious damage.
Rain Chances for Next Wednesday
We have had some time go by since we have had anything that could be considered significant rainfall here in the county and also in the western mountains where all of the wildfires are burning.
Drought Update Moderate Drought Conditions for most of the county
As we continue to remain very dry and have not had any rain now in the county for over 30 days. The drought conditions around the county continue to get worse.
Wednesday Weather Update
Its the day before Thanksgiving and rain is coming. I will be thankful for any amount we can get at this point. Based on the models. The amount we will get today is pretty miniscule as in trace amounts.
The high today will top out at 60º

We are rapidly closing in on the end of the year and with the wildfires occurring to our west all of us are begging for rain for those wildfires. The alarming thing is how long it has been since it has rained and how dry we really are.
Saturday Weather Update
We are in for a very windy and breezy Saturday. The bad news is this is not a good situation for the wildfires in the North Carolina Mountains. Conditions will change throughout the day in terms of air quality.
Friday Weather Update
We get a little visit from the 70's today as we will see a high in the mid 70's today. The main concerns are going to be the wind gust and also the lack of rain once again. Not going to do much to help the situation with the wildfires in the mountains.
A Smokey Fall Day in Rowan County
As I begin this weather update. I want to remind you all that a Code Red Air Quality Alert is in place today from smoke being blown across the county from the wildfires in the mountains.
Monday Weather Update
We are moving into another week here in the county. Things have gotten slightly cooler and much more seasonal. Highs in the 60's and lows in the 30's. Starting to feel much more like fall. The high today will top out around 56º
