Rowan County Pollen Forecast

Sunday, March 15, 2026 - 9:21am

Pollen levels are very high today, with an index of 9.9 (High) across Rowan County and much of the Piedmont.

The primary allergens in the air today are:
• Maple
• Elm
• Juniper

These trees are among the earliest pollen producers in North Carolina, often beginning in late winter and increasing sharply by mid-March as temperatures warm.

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, today may bring:
• Sneezing
• Itchy or watery eyes
• Runny nose
• Sinus pressure

The good news: rain and storms expected tonight into Monday should help wash some pollen out of the air, which is why the pollen forecast drops to 4.3 (Low–Medium) tomorrow.
