Latest Rainfall Totals – Blend of Models Update

Thursday, February 12, 2026 - 10:09am

The newest Blend of Models continues to support a solid soaking rain for our area late Saturday night through Sunday.

For Rowan County and much of the central NC Piedmont:

Current projected totals: 1.1" to 1.3"

Some nearby areas are showing slightly higher pockets, but right now the consensus keeps most of us in that 1–2 inch range.

What this means:

✔ Beneficial rainfall
✔ Good drought relief
✔ Some ponding in low-lying or poor drainage areas possible
✔ No signal for widespread flooding at this time

The heaviest rain still looks most likely Sunday morning through Sunday evening.

I’ll continue to watch for any north/south shifts in that heavier axis — that’s what could nudge totals up or down locally.

Stay tuned for updates.
