Clear skies and another very cold night are ahead for Rowan County as the Arctic air mass remains firmly in place. Lows will fall to around 12 degrees, with wind chills remaining in the single digits for much of the night.

North winds of 5 to 9 mph early in the evening will gradually diminish after midnight, becoming a light north-northwest flow. While gusts may reach up to 25 mph this evening, they will ease later in the night. With dewpoints well below zero, the air remains extremely dry, allowing temperatures to drop efficiently under clear skies.

North winds of 5 to 9 mph will become light northwest after midnight. Evening gusts may reach up to 21 mph, but conditions quiet down overnight. Wind chills will fall to near or slightly below 5 degrees, adding to the bitter cold feel into early Monday morning.
