Tonight:
Clear skies and very cold conditions continue across Rowan County as Arctic air remains firmly in place. Lows will fall to around 12 degrees, with wind chills dipping into the single digits during the late evening and overnight hours.

North winds of 8 to 13 mph early in the night will gradually weaken after midnight, becoming a light north-northwest flow. However, gusts up to 30 mph may persist during the first half of the evening before diminishing. Extremely dry air, combined with clear skies, will promote strong radiational cooling, making this one of the coldest nights of the season so far.


Davie County

Tonight:
Clear skies and a very cold night are expected, with lows dropping to around 13 degrees. North-northwest winds of 8 to 13 mph early will ease to light and variable after midnight. Despite the decreasing wind, gusts up to 30 mph may linger during the evening hours.

The dewpoint near 1°F reflects the extremely dry Arctic air mass in place, which will allow temperatures to fall quickly overnight. Wind chills will settle into the single digits by early Monday morning.


Davidson County

Tonight:
Clear and bitterly cold conditions continue into the overnight hours. Lows will fall to around 11 degrees, with wind chills as low as 5 degrees, making Davidson County the coldest of the three counties tonight.

North winds of 9 to 14 mph early tonight will gradually weaken to light northwest after midnight. Gusts may reach up to 29 mph this evening before diminishing. With clear skies, low dewpoints, and lingering breezes, wind chills will remain extremely cold through early Monday morning.
