Afternoon Outlook Rowan County

Sunday, December 14, 2025 - 3:11pm

Tonight:
Mostly clear and very cold conditions are expected across Rowan County as Arctic air continues to settle into the region. Lows will fall to around 13 degrees, with wind chills dipping into the single digits during the late evening hours.

North-northwest winds of 9 to 14 mph early tonight will gradually diminish after midnight, becoming a light northerly flow. Even as winds ease, occasional gusts up to 30 mph may persist through the first part of the evening before relaxing. The combination of clear skies, dry air, and weakening winds will promote strong radiational cooling overnight, contributing to temperatures reaching their lowest levels of the season so far.

North winds of 9 to 14 mph early this evening will gradually weaken to light winds after midnight, though gusts up to 29 mph may occur during the early nighttime hours.
