Calm wind becoming east-northeast around 5 mph after midnight.

Snow vs. the Warm Nose

Any snow that tries to fall into Rowan County will have to pass through a strong warm nose of air aloft.
This warm layer melts snowflakes well above the surface, making it very difficult for snow to reach the ground intact.

As a result, even if a few flakes mix in late tonight, little or no accumulation is expected. The warm nose keeps this primarily a rain event for Rowan County.
