Pollen, Air Quality, and Soil Temperature Forecast

Friday, November 7, 2025 - 7:00am

(Valid through the weekend)

Pollen

Pollen levels remain low across Rowan County heading into the weekend as cooler air settles in. Most of what remains in the air comes from late-season weeds and mold spores. Once Monday’s cold front moves through, pollen activity will drop even further.

Air Quality

Air quality will stay in the Good to Moderate range through Sunday, with light winds and limited humidity helping maintain clean conditions. After the front passes, even cleaner air is expected as colder and drier weather takes hold.

Soil Temperature

Current soil readings across Rowan County are averaging between 58 and 61 degrees. Those numbers will fall sharply behind the front, dipping into the 40s by midweek as the region transitions toward winter dormancy for lawns and gardens.

Seasonal Reminder

This will be one of the final pollen, air quality, and soil temperature forecasts of the season. The series will wrap up on Monday and return in the spring when new growth begins.
