Pollen, Air Quality and Soil Temperature Forecast

Allergy sufferers are getting a well-earned break across Rowan County today.

Pollen:
Tree and grass pollen levels remain at “none,” with only low levels of ragweed in the air. The cool, cloudy weather pattern and recent rain have helped keep pollen levels down across the region.

Air Quality:
Air quality remains in the “Good” range, with an AQI near 20–25 across Rowan County. Outdoor activities are safe for nearly everyone, including sensitive groups. The primary pollutant — fine particulate matter (PM2.5) — is minimal thanks to clean, stable air behind the midweek rain system.

Soil Temperature:
Soil temperatures are holding steady after several days of cool, wet weather. Conditions remain mild enough for late-season garden cleanup and planting, although growth will naturally slow with cooler air in place. Expect soil temperatures to dip slightly more by the weekend as clear nights return and patchy frost becomes possible.

Today’s mix of low pollen, clear air, and mild soil temperatures makes it one of the best outdoor days of the week — perfect for finishing those fall yard projects or just taking a breath of crisp, clean air before the weekend chill sets in.
