Frost Advisory in Effect from 2 AM to 9 AM Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of western and northwestern North Carolina, including the northern foothills and northwest Piedmont, as well as Buncombe, Transylvania, and Henderson Counties.

Timing:
From 2 AM to 9 AM EDT Saturday.

What to Expect:
Overnight temperatures are expected to fall between 32 and 37 degrees, leading to the potential for widespread frost formation.

Impacts:
Frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left unprotected. Gardeners and homeowners should take precautions to protect tender plants, flowers, and other vulnerable vegetation.

Safety Tips:

• Cover plants with light cloths, sheets, or frost blankets overnight.

• Bring potted plants indoors if possible.

• Avoid using plastic coverings directly on plants, as they can trap moisture and cause damage.

Even though daytime highs will rebound into the 60s, early morning frost is still possible in colder valleys and sheltered areas.
