Pollen levels remain low to moderate across Rowan County today. The main allergens are grasses and dock/sorrel. Tree and weed pollen are very low, providing some relief for allergy sufferers. Midday outdoor activity is safe, though it’s still a good idea to rinse off after extended time outdoors.
Air Quality:
Air Quality Index (AQI) readings are in the “Good” category, with values around 40–45 in the Salisbury area. The main pollutant is fine particulate matter (PM2.5), but levels remain low enough for normal outdoor activity.
Soil Temperature:
Regional data from NC State’s ECONet shows soil temperatures trending downward as fall progresses. At 4 inches deep, readings are generally in the mid- to upper-50s. Conditions remain favorable for late-season planting, bulb work, or lawn seeding before colder air arrives.
