With drier conditions and sunshine, mosquito activity should stay low to moderate. Pockets of standing water from recent rain may keep a few problem areas active around dusk.
Monday–Tuesday:
Expect activity to rise to moderate to high levels. Showers and thunderstorms will add new breeding areas, and cloudy, humid conditions favor mosquito survival. Evening hours will be the worst time to be outdoors without repellent.
Midweek (Wednesday–Thursday):
As drier and cooler air arrives, mosquito activity should trend back toward low to moderate. Breezy northeast winds will also help keep them less active during the day.
Key Tips:
-
Dump any standing water around yards and porches.
-
Use repellents if outside around dusk and dawn, especially Monday–Tuesday.
-
Consider running fans on porches—mosquitoes avoid breezy air.
