Current Conditions
Recent dry weather has kept mosquito activity somewhat limited. However, overnight lows near 60°F still support moderate mosquito presence in shaded and damp areas, especially near creeks, ponds, and wooded edges.
Day-by-Day Outlook
-
Today–Tuesday:
With mostly sunny skies and limited rainfall, mosquito activity will stay low to moderate, peaking near dusk and dawn. Areas with standing water may see higher concentrations. -
Wednesday:
Still mostly dry with highs near 88°F. Activity remains moderate in the evenings, especially near vegetated low-lying spots. -
Thursday–Friday:
Rain chances increase with the approaching front. Any rainfall will temporarily knock mosquito numbers down during showers, but breeding risk will rise by the weekend as water collects in containers, ditches, and puddles.
Risk Levels
-
Early Week: Low–Moderate
-
Midweek: Moderate
-
Late Week into Weekend: Moderate–High (depending on rainfall amounts)
Prevention Tips
-
Empty or treat standing water in containers, gutters, and bird baths at least twice weekly.
-
Wear long sleeves and use EPA-approved repellents if outdoors near dusk.
-
Check window and door screens for gaps to keep mosquitoes out of your home.
