Pollen, Air Quality & Soil Temperature Forecast

Pollen Forecast
Grass and ragweed remain the main pollen contributors at this point in September. Levels will run moderate today into Monday, peaking during the afternoon hours when warm temperatures and light winds allow pollen to spread. Some relief is expected mid-week with increasing clouds and shower chances.

Air Quality
Overall air quality remains in the Good to Moderate range across Rowan County. Calm conditions early in the week will allow light ozone buildup during the afternoons, but rain chances on Tuesday should help improve air quality by mid-week. Sensitive groups may notice mild effects on dry, warm afternoons.

Soil Temperature
Soil temperatures across the Piedmont are currently running in the low to mid-70s at the 4-inch depth. This is an ideal range for early fall plantings, with stable warmth supporting root development. Showers expected Tuesday into Wednesday could add some additional surface moisture, helping maintain soil conditions through the week.
