Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Southeastern Rowan and Central Cabarrus Counties

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for:

  • Central Cabarrus County

  • Southeastern Rowan County

This warning is in effect until 6:00 PM EDT.

Storm Information:

At 5:00 PM, radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms stretching from south of Lexington to south of Salisbury to east of Huntersville, moving southeast at 25 mph.

Hazards:

  • Wind gusts up to 60 mph

  • Radar-confirmed strong thunderstorm line

  • Potential damage to trees and power lines

Areas Likely to Be Impacted:

  • Harrisburg

  • Mt. Pleasant

  • Midland

  • Gold Hill

  • Rockwell

  • High Rock

  • High Rock Lake

  • Downtown Concord
