The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for:

Southeastern Davie County, including the Cooleemee area
-
North central Rowan County, including Woodleaf and Fork Church
Warning is in effect until 5:15 PM EDT
At 4:14 PM, radar detected a severe thunderstorm near Mocksville, moving southeast at only 5 mph. While movement is slow, the storm is capable of producing:

Wind gusts up to 60 mph

Penny-size hail
These conditions could lead to damage to trees and power lines across the warned area.

Safety Tips:
Residents in the warned area should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Do not remain outside or in vehicles during this storm.
