The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for an approaching strong thunderstorm expected to impact southeastern Catawba, central Iredell, and west-central Rowan County through 4:45 PM.
Storm Details
As of 4:01 PM, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm located about 5 miles northwest of Statesville, moving southeast at 25 mph. This storm is expected to cross into the region over the next 30–45 minutes.
Hazards include:

Wind gusts up to 40 mph

These conditions are capable of:
