After several rounds of storms to start the week, many in Rowan County are wondering: Will the weather cooperate for fireworks and cookouts this Independence Day? The good news is — things are trending in the right direction.
Storms First, Then Sunshine
A cold front pushing through the Carolinas is bringing scattered thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall Tuesday into Wednesday. Some storms could be strong with gusty winds and brief downpours. However, this unsettled pattern will gradually fade as we head into Thursday.
By Independence Day on Friday, high pressure builds in, setting the stage for sunny skies and seasonable warmth.
Day-by-Day Outlook
Thursday (July 3):
Sunny and dry with highs near 89 degrees. A refreshing change from earlier in the week.
Friday – Independence Day:
Mostly sunny and hot, with a high around 90 degrees. Winds light. No storms expected.
A great setup for parades, cookouts, and fireworks.
Saturday:
Sunny again, high near 89 degrees. Still dry and calm, with only a very slim chance of a pop-up shower.
Bottom Line
If you’ve got plans for fireworks, cookouts, or family time outdoors this Fourth of July — the weather looks fantastic across Rowan County. Just stay weather-aware through Wednesday and expect much calmer skies heading into the holiday weekend.
We’ll continue to track conditions closely and update if anything changes.
