A single, isolated thunderstorm that passed through Salisbury overnight has caused significant damage at a home on Mahaley Avenue.

The Incident
Around 4:30 AM Thursday, a large tree was uprooted and fell onto a residence at 178 Mahaley Avenue, collapsing part of the home. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene. As of this update, it is still unknown whether anyone was inside at the time of the incident. Fire and rescue teams are actively working to search the structure.

Storm Details
This was not a widespread event. Just one storm cell formed and intensified over Salisbury during the early morning hours. The brief but intense storm produced localized damaging wind gusts, likely responsible for toppling the tree.

Conditions overnight included elevated humidity, warm overnight temperatures, and enough instability to allow a lone storm to pulse up briefly — a common pattern in the summer months, even in otherwise quiet radar conditions.
