Motorists across parts of the Carolinas and northeast Georgia should be prepared for hazardous travel conditions this morning due to areas of dense fog. Visibility has dropped to 1/4 mile or less in several locations, especially across the foothills and mountain regions.
High-impact roadways affected include:
-
I-40 through western North Carolina
-
I-85 in upstate South Carolina
-
I-26 between Spartanburg and the North Carolina mountains
Drivers are urged to slow down, use low beam headlights, and allow extra space between vehicles. Fog can reduce visibility quickly and without warning.
