Under sunny skies and spring temperatures, Concord High hosted a five-team SPC track and field meet this week that saw strong performances from both the host Spiders and the visiting South Rowan Raiders.

Concord came away with the team title, showcasing their depth across sprints, distance, and field events. However, South Rowan made its presence felt in key individual races, adding to an increasingly competitive season within the South Piedmont Conference.

For the Raiders, Tristian Littlejohn captured first in the 400 meters, while Evan Brooks paced the field in the 1600-meter run. Andrew Crouse claimed victory in the 800 meters, and Sawyer Sifford delivered in the shot put, giving South Rowan four wins in high-profile events.

The meet served as an important tune-up with conference championships quickly approaching. Several athletes improved on their personal records, setting the stage for what promises to be a competitive postseason.
