Catawba College was alive with energy as fans, families, and teammates honored their senior student-athletes across a packed slate of home and road events. Here's a recap of today's action across the Catawba athletic programs:
Men’s Lacrosse
Despite a strong effort, Catawba fell to No. 2 Limestone 13–8 in their Senior Day showdown at Shuford Stadium.
Women’s Lacrosse
In their "Lacrosse Out Cancer" game, the Catawba women’s team faced a tough opponent in Limestone, falling 22–2.
Women’s Tennis
A bright spot on Senior Day, Catawba defeated Tusculum 4–0 and clinched their first-ever outright South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship.
Men’s Tennis
Not to be outdone, the men's team also secured a 4–0 win over Tusculum on Senior Day, earning their first SAC Regular Season title in program history and completing an undefeated run in conference play.
Men’s Volleyball
Catawba dropped their match to LMU 3–0. Their postseason hopes now hinge on the upcoming IVA Tournament bracket reveal.
Softball
The softball team split a doubleheader at UVA Wise. After dropping game one 7–1, the Catawba Indians bounced back with a 5–3 win in game two. They'll host USC Aiken this Wednesday.
Baseball
It was a dominant day for Catawba on the diamond, sweeping a doubleheader at Wingate. They took game one 4–0 and followed up with a 7–6 victory in game two. Payne Stolsworth went the distance in the opener, tossing a complete game shutout (9 IP, 3 H, 4 K).
Track & Field
Catawba athletes competed at both the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational and the Duke Invitational, continuing their push toward postseason qualifications.
