COLUMBUS, OHIO — April 6, 2025
Crown Legacy FC secured two hard-fought points on the road Sunday evening, earning a 1-1 draw with Columbus Crew 2 before prevailing 4-3 in a penalty shootout at Lower.com Field. The result marks Crown Legacy’s second straight match going to penalties, with goalkeeper Isaac Walker stepping up as the hero in the bonus-point showdown.
Forward Dylan Sing found the net for the first time in 2025, scoring a composed equalizer in the 80th minute to cancel out a first-half opener from Columbus’ Tristan Brown. Walker then made two crucial saves in the shootout, including a diving stop to his right that sealed the extra point for the visitors.
Columbus opened the scoring late in the first half when defender Owen Presthus whipped in a cross from the right wing. Brown met it at the back post with a left-footed volley that looped over the defense and into the net in the 44th minute.
Crown Legacy weathered heavy pressure in the second half, including a wild sequence in the 77th minute where Walker made a vital stop off a breakaway by Chase Adams. The rebound fell to two Columbus players, but goal-line clearances from defenders Wyatt Holt and Jamie Smith preserved the one-goal deficit.
The equalizer came three minutes later after a sharp attacking sequence. Academy defender Luke Munson—making his professional debut—delivered a ball to the top of the box. Forward Jack Sarkos flicked it with a backheel, and after a few deflections, it fell to Sing, who calmly slotted it past the goalkeeper with his left foot.
With the match level after 90 minutes, the teams headed to penalties. Walker’s pair of saves proved decisive, giving Crown Legacy FC a 4-3 edge in the shootout and their first win of the season, even if it comes in the form of two points instead of three.
