Very dry air lingers across the area today, while winds increasing from the west and southwest ahead of a mostly dry cold front. Any fires that develop will have the potential to spread rapidly.
TIMING ▪ Through this evening.
HAZARDS & IMPACTS
▪ Critical fire weather conditions will lead to extreme fire behavior.
▪ Sustained southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph, with gusts of 25 to 35 mph. Winds will shift to the northwest behind the front early this evening, with wind speeds will diminishing by late this evening.
▪ 10-hour fuel moisture already less than 10 across much of the area.
▪ Minimum relative humidity of 20 to 30 percent.

▪ Special Weather Statement for Increased Fire Danger in effect from 12pm to 8pm for areas not in the Red Flag
