  • Layne Riggs posted his best qualifying result of the season during Friday afternoon's practice & qualifying session, starting 4th for the 134-lap event. A slow stop at the stage-break caution, Riggs started the second stage in 13th. Riggs fought to get back within the top-10, getting up to sixth to finish the stage and earning more valuable stage points. In an action-packed final stage, Riggs showed off his race craft while battling against Larson and Chastain, taking the lead with just four laps remaining. Riggs and Larson battled to the very end with Riggs finishing second by 1.340 seconds. Riggs is now eighth in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series drivers points standings.

  • "It was crazy — we were third, then we were leading. We were just all over the map racing Larson and Corey Heim," said Riggs. "We didn't really run up front at these mile-and-a-half's last season, but we are really stepping up our game and it's cool to show that by holding my own against these Cup Series regulars. It's a true testament to what we have going on at Front Row Motorsports."

A strong stop from the No. 38 pit crew during the stage-break caution had Smith start the second stage in sixth. Smith spent a caution-less Stage Two battling the handling of the No. 38 Ford F-150 but was still able to finish Stage Two in 11th.
