HAZARDS & IMPACTS
▪ A line of severe thunderstorms is possible with damaging winds and embedded tornadoes
▪ Locally heavy rainfall with isolated minor/nuisance flooding

As we move closer to the weekend the risk for strong to severe thunderstorms becomes a possibility with the transition of the seasons making the atmosphere unstable due to the cold and warm air colliding. Before we get into potential timing on both days let's take a look at the threat for Saturday.

There is a 15% chances or medium risk for severe weather for the western portion of the state butting right up just inside the western border of the county. A 30% chance or high risk for the southwest corner of the state. We will be watching for potential shifts in this watch area over the coming days.

We will likely start to see rain moving into the county and the area around midday Saturday All of this will be from a low-pressure system that has already developed over the Midwest will be aided by a secondary low that is expected to develop over the midsouth over the next few days. This will aid in pulling moisture in from the gulf coast into the Mississippi valley and Tennessee. Creating the potential for the strong to severe storms to develop around the region and the area.

The good news is timing could be on our side with the arrival of the worst of the system moving in for the early morning hours of Sunday. This would limit the instability in the atmosphere as the sun would not be up for the arrival of the stronger portion of the system taking some of the steam out of it. However, the strong to damaging winds will still be a big issue to watch for.

As we move into the middle to later part of the afternoon Sunday, we should start to see some clearing and the potential for severe weather should move out of the county and area to our east.
