Rain could be heavy this weekend

Friday, February 14, 2025 - 10:01am

As we are trying to dry out from rainfall earlier this week. We have a second round of rain moving in for the weekend. The good news is that it doesn't appear the entire weekend will be a washout. Sunday looks to have the most widespread and heavy rainfall.

As of now the Storms Prediction Center is giving us a general thunderstorm risk for the weekend as indicated in the images below for both Saturday and Sunday.

As mentioned above it does not appear the entire weekend will be a washout and even though the rain could be heavy at times it appears that we will only pick up around an inch of rainfall at this point over the weekend. There could be some localized higher amounts if a heavy band of rainfall sets up over an area for an extended period of time.

Be prepared for localized flooding in the usual trouble spots as we are still not dry from earlier this week. Continue to stay weather aware and follow Rowan County Weather for the latest as we move through the weekend.
