As we are dealing with a warmup that is giving us temperatures around or above normal for the remainder of the week. We do have to look ahead to Friday as a chance for showers and thunderstorms will give us the potential for some much-needed rainfall around the county and the area.
The model data below shows a low-pressure system just inland over Mexico that will begin to pull moisture in from the Gulf. during the day on Thursday.
The system will slowly push off to the east as a new low will develop over the Ohio Valley area that will help to push the rain through the county and the area during the afternoon and evening hours on Friday.
As of now the line of showers and maybe a thunderstorm will push through the county and the area around 4pm Friday to have some impacts on the afternoon and evening commute. For now the chances for sever weather are almost nonexistent.
The image above shows the chance for thunderstorms and severe weather will be to our west for areas in central Tennessee and west during the day on Friday. We will monitor the updates from the Storms Predictions Center over the next few days to see if there is a shift in the threat as we move into the day on Friday.
We could see as much as a half an inch of rainfall for some locations around the county as the system will unfortunately move through pretty quickly with the low that forms in the Ohio Valley area pushing it toward the Atlantic coast.
