...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Nuisance flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Rowan County, North Carolina

* WHEN...Until 415 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams
and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks,
greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and
parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible.
A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible. A
small culvert washout or two is possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 416 PM EDT, Heavy rain has ended across Rowan County
following 2-4 inches of rainfall earlier on Thursday.
Therefore, the flash flood threat has ended and new areas of
flooding are not expected. However, N Second Creek remains
out-of-bank and is flooding adjacent low-lying areas between
Mount Ulla and Woodleaf. Therefore, the Flash Flood Warning
will be cancelled and be replaced by a Flood Advisory for
nuisance stream flooding.

resulting in nuisance flooding along North Second Creek..

CURRENT STAGE: 12.12 feet
ACTION/ADVISORY STAGE: 12.0 feet
MINOR FLOOD STAGE: 14.0 feet
TREND: Rising Slowly
IMPACTS: N Second Creek is out of its banks up and
downstream of the gauge site on US 70, flooding adjacent
farmland and other low-lying areas with up to 2 feet of
inundation. In fast-response situations, upstream tributaries
will likely already be flooding several low-water crossings.
Impacted crossings upstream may include at White Rd, Lyerly
Rd, Upright Rd, Graham Rd, Hall Rd, Childers Rd, and Bear
Poplar Rd.

ESTIMATED FORECAST: N Second Creek will continue to rise
slowly this evening and is expected to crest below 14 feet
overnight tonight before beginning a gradual recession. No
appreciable additional rainfall is expected.

Cleveland, Woodleaf and Mount Ulla.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.
