Wednesday, April 3, 2024 - 9:32am

Salisbury, NC (April 2, 2024) The Rowan Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the charter class of Youth Leadership Rowan. With a rich history of over 30 years in conducting Leadership Rowan for adults, we are proud to extend this opportunity to Rowan-Salisbury high school students for the first time. The program is scheduled to run from September 2024 to April 2025, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to nurturing future leaders. The deadline to submit applications is Mon., April 15, 2024.

Nick Means, of F & M Bank and the distinguished Chairman of the Leadership Rowan Steering Committee, expresses his enthusiasm: “We are excited to launch the new Youth Leadership Rowan program and look forward to helping our students become more involved in their hometown.”

Youth Leadership Rowan promises to deliver a transformative experience for both participants and the broader community.  Rowan-Salisbury School (RSS) students will dedicate one day per month to immersing themselves in various aspects of the community, from government and education to business, human needs, and the arts. Throughout the six-month program, participants will embark on exclusive tours and engage in hands-on experiences, facilitated by esteemed area leaders who confront our community’s most pressing challenges on a daily basis.

The Chamber is able to provide this program free-of-charge for the students through generous community sponsors. If you are interested in providing a sponsorship, please respond by Fri., April 26, to Chamber President Elaine Spalding at espalding@rowanchamber.com.
