The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Davie County in the piedmont of North Carolina...
Iredell County in the piedmont of North Carolina...
Rowan County in the piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 600 PM EST.

* At 148 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly across the I-77 and I-40 corridors.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
