MATCH PREVIEW: Charlotte FC vs. Philadelphia Union

Wednesday, September 20, 2023 - 9:29am

Charlotte FC face a short turnaround for a midweek match against the Philadelphia Union tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET at Bank of America Stadium.

Charlotte FC have put in good performances throughout the summer, especially at home where they have only lost once in their last 12 matches. However, the Club still sits below the playoff line after drawing seven of those 12 matches. Since returning from Leagues Cup, CLTFC are undefeated in four matches with one win and three draws.

Still, the Club still completely controls its own playoff destiny with seven matches remaining, sitting just three points below the final playoff spot with one to two games in hand on all opponents around them.

The Philadelphia Union currently sits in fourth place in the Eastern Conference and beat Charlotte FC 1-0 earlier in the season at Subaru Park. Last season, the Union visited Bank of America Stadium locked in a tight battle for the Supporter’s Shield but left with a comprehensive 4-0 loss.
Head Coach Christian Lattanzio’s side will be looking to recreate the magic from last year’s match as their quest for the playoffs continues Wednesday night.
