advertise your local business here »...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the
following county, Rowan.
* WHEN...Until 1145 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 832 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen leading to ponding of water on roadways and in
low lying areas. Heavy rain will move south across the county
from Salisbury to China Grove and Rockwell.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.

Kannapolis, Salisbury, China Grove, Spencer, Landis,
Enochville, Granite Quarry, Rockwell, Cooleemee, Cleveland,
Faith, High Rock Lake, Piedmont Research Station, Woodleaf,
Mount Ulla and Gold Hill.

threatening roads or property to the National Weather Service
Greenville-Spartanburg by calling toll free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1,
by posting on our Facebook page, or via Twitter using hashtag
NWSGSP. Your message should describe the specific location where
impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
