...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northwestern
Cabarrus, southeastern Catawba, eastern Lincoln, southeastern
Iredell, north central Mecklenburg and southwestern Rowan Counties
through 400 PM EDT...

At 330 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles north of Huntersville, or near Lake Norman, moving east at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Kannapolis, Huntersville, Cornelius, Mooresville, Davidson, Landis,
Enochville, Westport, Troutman and Lake Norman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

If on or near Lake Norman, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
