Previewing Charlotte FC vs. New York Red Bulls

Charlotte FC hosts the New York Red Bulls at Bank of America Stadium in the fifth match of the season on Saturday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The home team won all three meetings between Charlotte FC and the Red Bulls last season, including New York winning, 3—1, in the fifth round of the US Open Cup. CLTFC took down the Red Bulls 2-0 on June 11, but lost the reverse fixture 2-0 on Decision Day after being knocked out of playoff contention in the prior match.

Charlotte FC's 2-0 victory over the Red Bulls on June 11 last season was then-interim head coach Christian Lattanzio's first match in charge. He went on to compile an 8-10-2 record over the remainder of the 2022 season and received a three-year contract extension ahead of the 2023 campaign to remove the interim tag.

Last Saturday Charlotte FC picked up their first win of the season over Orlando City SC. Enzo Copetti scored his second goal of the season and Kerwin Vargas netted the game-winner in the 2-1 victory. On the New York Red Bulls side, they have opened the season with one win, two draws, and one loss.
