A wet week ahead

Sunday, January 20, 2019 - 9:48am

It may be sunny outside right now but once again this week we will deal with a few days of wet weather. We will see rain move in late Tuesday and hang around in the forecast for the majority of this week. We will walk a fine line from Tuesday to Thursday during the evening and early morning hours with the possibility of freezing rain at times. I am not including freezing rain in my forecast at this point as I feel the moisture will be occurring during times where the temperatures will be above freezing. The real story will be the potential for rainfall accumulation over the next 7 days. This total does include the rainfall we had overnight this morning.

We will see around 2 inches of rainfall this week. Again remember that total includes the rainfall that occurred during the overnight hours this morning. We had around eight tenths of an inch of rainfall this morning. Leaving us with around an inch and a half of rainfall from Tuesday evening to Thursday morning. I will of course keep you updated right here and on social media throughout the week as rain moves in and out of the county. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
