A weak cold front will move through the area later this afternoon and evening that will bring just ahead of it the chance for thunderstorms. I believe some of these storms will be strong. Let's take a look at the timeline on when storms will arrive in the county.

We will start to see storms moving into the county around 5pm this afternoon and as they start to push in we could see some gusty winds out ahead of the storms. We will see the chance for strong storms continue as we move through the 6pm hour in the early evening.

Things will start to wind down as we head into the 7pm hour and we should begin to see storms push off east of the county.

Not looking for too much in the way of accumulation. Around a quarter to a half of an inch is possible by the time the storms move through and out of the county.

As far as overall impacts. I feel this for the most part will be general thunderstorms with lightning and thunder. We could see a few storms come through with strong winds. I will of course continue to monitor the activity and the models as we move through the day. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
