Rain moves in this afternoon and evening
Good Saturday Morning! We are starting off the day with sunny skies and clear conditions. However, don't let these sunny skies fool you. There is rain on the way and is expected to arrive by late afternoon and early evening. Let's take a look at what to expect.
Starting with the high temperature today. We will top out at around 69º before the rains come and start to bring the temperatures down.

The first drops of rain should arrive in the form of isolated showers by around the 5pm timeframe.

These showers will continue to become more widespread as the cold front moves closer to the area bringing heavier rain with it. by around 9pm this evening.

We will also start to see an increase in the winds as the front gets closer to the area and the county. Due to the temperature change coming behind the front. We will see winds become sustained at around 14 miles per hour.

We will see wind gust approaching 20 - 25 miles per hour by late evening. As the front moves closer and the rains pick up.

I am not expecting a lot in the way of accumulation before midnight from the rainfall. I believe we will see most areas with around a tenth of an inch of rainfall by the end of the day. Cooler temperatures are on the way for tomorrow and we will get really close to our first freeze of the season by tomorrow night. I will post updates right here and on social media throughout the weekend. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
