Heavy Downpours and Strong Winds Possible This Evening
As we start this new work week. There is a threat for some heavy downpours and strong gusty winds later this afternoon and evening around the county. Let's take a look at what you can expect. The high today will top out at around 70º

We will see isolated showers this morning that give way to more widespread rain as we enter the afternoon hours. Heavy downpours are likely as we move into the late afternoon and evening hours.

With the heavy downpours we could see some gusty winds as the Helicity Values start to climb as we move through the day.

We will see sustained winds around 15-20 miles per hour as these showers and heavy downpours move through the county.

Wind gust will be as much as 25-30 miles per hour with these showers and downpours. The biggest concern for me at this point will be localized flooding and the potential for some trees or power lines to come down with these winds and the rain that we will see later today.

We could se as much as an inch and a half to an inch and three quarters from these showers and downpours that will move through later today and this evening.

I will keep you updated right here and on social media throughout the day and evening as the showers and downpours move through the area and the county. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
