Sunday Weather Update

Sunday, October 8, 2017 - 8:55am

The weather today is certainly being watched by a lot of folks. There are events occurring all around the area. The concern from everyone is when will it rain and will it impact the events and plans I have today. The good news is for most of the day the threat is isolated . Late this evening we will see more widespread chances move in. I am expecting the widespread rain chances to move in around 7 - 8pm this evening.

The heaviest rain fall will be to our west in the mountains and I expect we will only see around a quarter to a half of an inch of rain fall by midnight.

We will see a high of around 80º today

The winds will be sustained at around 14 miles per hour.

We will see wind gust of around 20 miles per hour as well.

So much like yesterday. Don't cancel your plans for outdoor events. Just keep the rain gear handy. If you have anything planned for outside after 7pm you may want to cancel as the rain will be more persistent and widespread. I will of course keep you updated right here and on social media. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
