The low this morning was 58º and that is probably going to be the number that we bottom out on for the day. Just don't see the temperature getting back down that low this evening. At least before midnight.

Now lets take a look at the 5am advisory on Hurricane Irma. Irma is a Category 3 Hurricane with sustained winds of 115mph. The track has the storm just off the coast of Cuba on Friday Evening. That's pretty reliable at this point.

Things get a little difficult after that time for now. Several factors come into play on what could happen with Irma. If you notice in the image below the blue H on the right hand side of the image. That's a high pressure that will make all of the difference in the scenario for Irma. I will tell you about them below.

1. If the high pressure stays kind of weak. Irma would likely curve around the high pressure system and stay out at sea. Basically remaining a fish storm.
2. The high pressure strengthens a little causing Irma to curve northwest and the storms moves toward the Carolina's by the end of the week. (That is the model pictured above) Please keep in mind that is not a forecast just a possible scenario at this point
3. The high strengthens and Irma stays south of us possibly moving into the Gulf and giving that region another strong Hurricane to encounter.
The key thing to remember at this point is there is still a lot of time and uncertainty with what will happen with Irma. The best option for anyone is that we get lucky enough for Option 1 to play out and no one deals with the storm. I will continue to keep you updated right here and on social media as Irma continues on its track. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather
