Cool Temps today with some pesky drizzle and light rain

Tuesday, August 29, 2017 - 8:48am

Good Tuesday Morning. Today is one of those days that will certainly make you think ahead to fall. It is going to be a cloudy overcast day for at least the morning and early afternoon. We could see some clearing late afternoon and into the evening. There will be some periods of low level moisture that the radar will not pick up. Much like this morning with the pesky drizzle that has been around. The high today a well below average 76º

The story that will be the one to watch going into Labor Day Weekend will be for beach goers heading toward the outer banks Potential Tropical Cyclone Ten will bring some rain to the outer banks and all along the North Carolina Coastline. Not looking for anything impactful with the exception of the flood potential. Now this will not be anything like what you are seeing in the Houston area and Southeast Texas. We are only looking at around 5-6 inches of rainfall along the coast.

Don't forget if you are planning a trip to the Mountains for the fall leave viewing. Forecasters are predicting that leaves will have a brighter color this year since we have had ample amounts of rainfall. I have a complete blog on the prime viewing times for western North Carolina so please fell free to check it out in the blog section of this website. Below is a look at potential peak times for viewing.

Enjoy your Tuesday everyone! As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
