Rain continues to be in the forecast

Saturday, August 12, 2017 - 9:16am

Good Saturday Morning. Rain will continue to be part of the forecast today. Things will be a little different today as most of the activity will be in the form of isolated showers that will pass through off and on during the day. The Storms Prediction Center has us under a General Thunderstorm Risk again today. Not looking for anything severe with the rain that moves through during the course of your Saturday.

The biggest problem with the setup we have today. Is the fact that the rainfall will be pretty isolated around the area and the county. It makes it a little more difficult to pinpoint the times throughout the day that you might see a passing shower or thunderstorm. The best chances will be as we move through the afternoon hours but don't rule out some isolated showers this morning.

Accumulations today will not be as high as yesterday as the front has drifted back to the south on us. Taking the heavy rainfall totals with it. I am looking for accumulations today around the county to be around a quarter to a half of an inch of rainfall.

As always I will keep you updated right here and on social media throughout the day. Thank you for following Rowan County Weather and enjoy your Saturday.
