Rain Chances are better today

Sunday, July 23, 2017 - 8:40am

Good Sunday morning everyone! The heat will be on again today but our chance for some relief in the form of rain are much better today than they have been. The high will top out at around 93º today before the rains move in and start to cool us off.

The heat index today will top out around 99º before the rains move in to cool us off.

Showers and storms are likely to move in during the later afternoon and evening hours. If you are looking for a window of time. I feel our best chances for rain will be between 3pm and 9pm today. Not looking for anything severe but we could see strong storms.

Accumulations will be anywhere form a quarter to three quarters of an inch. There could be a few isolated areas that get around an inch of rain today if a heavy downpour sets up. The air quality today is still a code yellow. The good news is things look to turn around and conditions return to normal tomorrow.

As showers and storms start to approach and move through the county today. I will provide updates right here and on social media. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
